Building a Child's Music PlayerI'm building something for my child. It's a nice project that involves electronics and 3D modeling and printing, two things that I've enjoyed a lot lately.
It will basically be an mp3 player with 6 simple buttons, where which will play a song. My son is 3.5 now so that's complex enough, but he's really into music at the moment, so I'm trying to finish this fast! As I progress and definitely when I finish it, I will share how it looks. For now, check out a couple of picture of the current wiring for testing the player. I can already make contact with one of different wires directly to Ground and that works as a future button and plays an mp3.
The SDCard you see will hold the 6 songs. That and the batteries will be inside, not accessible to the child. I plan to make the front-panel be held by two screws that I can open when I need to change batteries or the songs! I did not study electronics a lot, so I've used ChatGPT to plan this and get help with wirings. I must say that for this particular use, as a sidekick in a hobby, it has been quite useful. Still, after making my list of materials and getting it all, including the buttons, batteries, battery holder, etc. I forgot a crucial component - I've got nothing to control volume! I'll have to figure out what kind of volume-setting component to get and how to attach it to the chassis of this thing. Then there will be soldering! That's something I really need to get better at too... Anyway, I'll share updates! |
